Beloved DC superhero Batman has made history as he is set to become the first superhero who receive his own star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The character has been a pop culture staple for many decades thanks to his continuing presence in the comics, film, video games, and TV with different interpretations and versions in each appearance.
Its popularity has also led to the hero's villains also getting their spotlight such as the soon-to-premiere HBO series The Penguin (a spinoff of Matt Reeves' The Batman) and the upcoming sequel Joker: Folie à Deux.
Batman to Receive His Own Hollywood Walk of Fame Star
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced that Batman will be receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, September 26th.
The beloved DC hero is the first superhero to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. The other fictional characters who have received the honor are Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Godzilla, Kermit the Frog, Shrek, and many more.
DC Chief Creative Officer Jim Lee and Senior Vice President Anne DePies are expected to be in attendance. The star will be dedicated next to the stars of Adam West and Bob Kane.
The Caped Crusader himself (most likely an unknown person in costume) will also appear in the ceremony to represent the character's presence as the recipient.
In conjunction with the ceremony, the character will also be awarded the Guinness World Records title for the first superhero with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a special presentation by official GWR adjudicator Michael Empric.
This is exciting news for long-time fans of the character as it cements his legacy as a pop culture and comic book icon. There is no doubt that he is the superhero who deserves to get the historic recognition.
