Justice League star Ben Affleck is pretty much a jack of all trades and his numerous accolades in the world of entertainment pretty much cement that. Aside from being a phenomenal actor, Affleck is also widely regarded by many as one of the best film directors of modern-day cinema, and this time around, he'll take his talents over to Disney.

First reported by Deadline, Affleck has been tapped by the House of Mouse to helm the film adaptation of the 2012 novel Keeper of the Lost Cities by author Shannon Messenger. The novel's story revolves around the adventures of a telepathic twelve-year-old as she races against time to discover where she gained her powers and why she has them.

Other key details about the project are still being kept under wraps and with Affleck's packed schedule, it's still uncertain whether the Batman actor will be able to prioritize the film or have it sidelined for the meantime. Currently, Affleck is slated to reprise his role as the caped crusader in The Flash which begins filming this year. He's also rumored to appear in several DC projects following his decision to "unretire" his gig as DC's Dark Knight although that one remains a rumor at this point.

Now, considering Disney owns Marvel, it begs the question: could Affleck one day find himself returning to the Marvel Universe? If anything, Affleck's new Disney project proves that anything is possible but if things were up to me, I'd like to see Batfleck stick around in the DCEU and get his redemption story going.

Speaking of, Zack Snyder's Justice League hits HBO Max this March.
