Avengers: Endgame Writer Says Thanos’ Blade Is Much Stronger Than Vibranium

Vibranium might be one of the strongest elements in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it looks like Avengers: Endgame introduced something even stronger in the franchise.

Marvel just recently released Avengers: Endgame on Digital HD last week and the commentary track of the film revealed a whole lot of interesting secrets from the film's directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, as well as the film's writers, Stephen McFeely, and Christopher Markus.

Towards the end of the movie, the team got to talking about Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his armor and his weapon. According to the team, the Mad Titan' blade was much stronger than vibranium, something implied when it sliced right through Captain America's (Chris Evans) shield.

"You can also see that while Vibranium is the strongest substance on Earth, whatever Thanos' straight razor there is made out of is stronger," Markus said in the commentary.

"Well, Thanos clearly knew of Eitri," Joe Russo responded, something that both writers agreed to.

"That's true, he'd have him make him a helicopter blade," McFeely pointed.

We've yet to learn what Thanos' blade is really made of in Avengers: Endgame, but maybe it could be made of Adamantium, an alloy stronger than Vibranium in Marvel Comics. Unlike Vibranium which is a natural element, Adamantium is crafted, something clearly up Eitri's alley.

Then again, there could be many other metals. It could also be an Uru metal, an element that could be found on Nivadellier, Eitri's home.

Hopefully, the Russos and the Avengers: Endgame writing team expound on the metal more seeing how we may get to see more of this metal in the MCU.

Avengers: Endgame is available on Digital HD.
