Avengers: Doomsday may be a year away, but one confirmed star teased that the X-Men will be a major part of the story.
Considering that the mutants have finally rejoined the MCU, is it possible that they can help the existing heroes defeat the likes of Doctor Doom? Here's what Gambit star Channing Tatum had to say.
What Does the MCU Have in Store for Avengers: Doomsday?
Even as plot details are kept under wraps for fans, Remy LeBeau, aka Gambit, actor Channing Tatum, teased that a massive fight scene between the Avengers, the X-Men, and Doctor Doom is exactly what fans should look forward to on the big screens.
"We had tons of shooting," Tatum told Variety, while sharing that he needed intensive physical therapy in wrapping the Doomsday shoot, "It's not about the pain I feel in the moment. It's knowing I can't take this back. And now I know what the next six months of my life will be like."
Deadpool and Wolverine may have brought Tatum's Gambit to life, but is it possible that he would also be a significant chess piece in defeating Victor von Doom?
Some of the confirmed X-Men members coming to Doomsday include Vanessa Kirby's Sue Storm, Patrick Stewart's Professor X aka Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen's Magneto, Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn's Raven Darkhölme aka Mystique, and James Marsden's Scott Summers, to mention a few!
The details about the anticipated "big fight" are unclear, but Gambit is one of the many X-Men actors joining Doomsday, which means the burden may fall on their court this time. In fact, one particular comic book covers how things ended after both sides clashed.
How Does Robert Downey Jr. Affect Doctor Doom in the Avengers Movie?
The Latverian ruler's involvement in the MCU just got bigger the moment the X-Men joined the fray. Not just for his prowess and existence within the Multiverse, but because the face of Robert Downey Jr. will most likely throw the Avengers and other Earth-616 heroes off their groove.

In fact, in one of the X-Men comic book storylines, Uncanny X-Men #145-146, the Latverian mutants began willingly serving Doctor Doom after he had "rescued" and "protected" them from the X-Men and Xavier's "interference", which could likely occur, given the Multiverse in the franchise.
In the meantime, fans can wait for Avengers: Doomsday to premiere on the big screens on December 18, 2026.
