- Primary Subject: Avengers: Doomsday
- Key Update: Rumors claim Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool will feature prominently across all three acts of the upcoming crossover film.
- Status: Leaked
- Last Verified: October 13, 2026
- Quick Answer: Although unconfirmed by Marvel Studios, leaks suggest Deadpool may serve as a primary source of comic relief throughout the movie.
A new Avengers: Doomsday leak claims Ryan Reynolds will indeed be part of the film and will even appear in all three acts, hinting at a major role for his iconic character, Deadpool.
It has repeatedly been denied that either the Merc with a Mouth or Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) will appear in the next MCU crossover movie.
However, given that their 2024 film, Deadpool & Wolverine, introduced several plot points that could connect to Doomsday, from the expansion of the multiverse to the concept of anchor beings, is this enough evidence that Wade Wilson will be in the upcoming Avengers film?
What Is Deadpool’s Role in Avengers: Doomsday?

The recently released Avengers: Endgame Encore has confirmed the premise of Avengers: Doomsday.
As the Marvel Multiverse rapidly collapses, different universes will be forced to fight each other to survive.
In addition to the MCU Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Wakandans, and the Fox X-Men, this battle promises a major crossover like no other. However, it looks like they will not be the only ones involved, as Deadpool may also appear in the film.
With the incursions happening, VFX artist James Mack claimed in a post on X that Doomsday would be “an extremely serious movie designed to create a sense of unease and anxiety as the world approaches its end.”
Despite this serious tone, Mack reveals some characters could provide comic relief, including Red Guardian (David Harbour), Deadpool, and Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch (Joseph Quinn).
However, compared to Red Guardian, who Mack claims will have a “very minor role” and remain at Avengers Tower with Bob (Lewis Pullman), and Johnny, who will only get “a few moments,” Deadpool reportedly “makes a special appearance in all three acts of the film.”
Deadpool is known for breaking the fourth wall, using pop culture satire, and turning his personal trauma and disfigurement into a constant stream of jokes that resonate with viewers.
If he does bring comic relief to Doomsday, fans could be in for some hilarious moments that offer a brief break from the intense events expected to unfold in the movie.
Will Deadpool Be in Avengers: Doomsday?

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed the number of stars appearing in Avengers: Doomsday, but Ryan Reynolds was not among them.
However, the Marvel boss also said more actors would be announced, giving fans hope that their favorite heroes would return to the big screen.
Despite Reynolds also denying that he would be part of the film, he has been dropping hints about his possible involvement, including a social media post showing a spray-painted Avengers logo.
Marvel Studios itself also seemed to tease his involvement in Doomsday during the recent D23 panel after playing a video message from Hugh Jackman, with Reynolds chiming in off-screen.
Blake Lively’s husband could be heard joking about the film’s huge cast, asking why the studio would even need him and Jackman when it already had “twenty-some people.”
The iconic X-Men star responded with his own tease, saying he would love to join Doomsday and might be able to convince Reynolds to join him as well, prompting cheers from the Hall H crowd.
While Marvel, Reynolds, and Jackman have yet to confirm their appearances in the movie, the exchange has given fans another reason to speculate that the two stars could be part of the upcoming crossover.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in theaters on December 18.
