Avatar 2: Bailey Bass Feels Protective of Younger Co-Stars On Set Because of Kate Winslet

The Interview with the Vampire show star Bailey Bass plays Tsireya in James Cameron’s Avatar sequel, Avatar: The Way of Water. With the sequel on its way soon to our theater screens, Bass touches upon a bit on what it’s like to be on set with acclaimed actress Kate Winslet, especially since the latter plays Bass’ mother in the film.

Bass shares what it’s like filming on set with Kate Winslet as her character Tsireya’s mother with Collider. Given Winslet’s mother figure to Bass, the latter has definitely learned a thing or two on feeling protective of the younger co-stars. Check out her full quote below:

The actress continues on to say that her term of ‘protectiveness’ leans more on ensuring that her castmates feel comfortable around her, feel more welcomed and un-shunned as a fellow cast member, which makes her gush all the more, because it’s something she has ‘adapted’ from Winslet.

Seeing as Avatar: The Way of Water centers familial themes, with Jake Sully and his family ending up seeking refuge in the reef village of Metkayina clan and given that the film’s runtime possibly exceeds the 3 hour mark, it’s only natural that these actors clumping together would bloom a better relationship and bond, there is no doubt the new cast members like Bailey Bass are highly anticipated to deliver stellar performances.

Avatar: The Way of Water hits theaters this December 16, 2022. You can also catch Bailey Bass as the ‘new’ Claudia on Interview with the Vampire Season 1.
