Aquaman seems to be a gamechanger for the DCEU, seemingly ditching the dark and grim nature of films started by Man of Steel and embracing some of the silliness that comes with the comic books. While Zack Snyder did start the DCEU, it seems like Warner Bros. is slowly distancing themselves from the director who probably won't be used by the company any time soon.
However, Aquaman lead Jason Momoa won't let Warner Bros. or anyone else forget the legacy that Snyder left behind, whether it be positive or negative. Speaking with Screen Rant, Momoa stated that Snyder was like family to him and credits the director for giving him a good career. Even after a breakout role in Game of Thrones season one, the actor wasn't heavily requested by other companies.
It's not hard to see why Momoa is so loyal to Snyder since the director saw something in him that others didn't. In fact, a lot of the DCEU actors have genuinely nice things to say about the director, which shows that he must have been a great guy. We may never see him get involved in another DC film but we can't wait to see what he does next.
As for Momoa, it seems like he will be doing well with Aquaman, as the film made a ton of money in China and just got a certified fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes. The film will debut next week, on December 20, so if you love DC, Momoa, or Aquaman, give this movie a shot.
