Fans have a lot of high hopes for December's Aquaman movie, thanks to one excellent trailer and Jason Momoa's performance in Justice League. From what we've seen thus far, it looks like a really fun superhero movie and could dominate the December box office, given the public's love for superhero films, even DC ones.
While fans are more interested in Arthur Curry's journey to become King of Atlantis, a lot of fans are a bit intrigued by some of the flashback sequences teased thus far. Some fans might be sick of origin films but Aquaman is one of the few characters whose origin hasn't been shoved down our throats so this shouldn't be a problem.
Bill Brzeski, the film's production designer, decided to share some of the details for these new scenes and they are actually quite intriguing. Admittedly, we all knew what was happening in the scene where Arthur was a kid but he does share a fascinating detail about the flashback where Curry is a young-adult. Hopefully, it happens early and isn't placed in an odd part of the film like Man of Steel.
Looking like an intriguing mix of Thor and Black Panther, Aquaman should be the movie that brings up the public's faith in DC's films. Most of us are expecting Shazam to be that movie but there's no harm in this one being the installment that restores our faith. Plus, it will mean that Aquaman is no longer a joke.
Aquaman comes out on December 21.
