Anthony Mackie gave a special shoutout to Tom Holland once again as he reflected on his starring role in Captain America: Brave New World.
The upcoming MCU film will see Sam Wilson officially taking the mantle of Captain America following the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. It will also mark Mackie's first solo leading movie in the MCU.
For the past few weeks, we've been hearing details about the film as Mackie and his co-stars have been doing promotional rounds during the recent San Diego Comic-Con and D23 events.
Anthony Mackie Mentions Tom Holland as He Reflects on Starring in Captain America 4
In his recent post on Instagram, Mackie reflected on his starring role in Captain America: Brave New World as he shared a photo of himself watching footage from the film at the San Diego Comic-Con Hall H stage.
He gave a special shoutout to Holland once again as he admitted that he was "right" about what it feels like to be starring in a solo movie.
"I had to take time and let the scope of what happened sink in. You were right @tomholland2013, it is different when you go with your own movie!" Mackie wrote in his caption.
This is not the first time that Mackie mentioned Holland while promoting Captain America: Brave New World as he also took a shot at him in previous comments about starring in the film.
In case you're not familiar, Mackie and Holland have a playful rivalry going on for the past few years that started with the Spider-Man actor poking fun at the fact that Sam Wilson doesn't have a solo movie yet at that time.
While the jokes might be too much for some fans, it is all being done playfully and the bantering is part of Mackie and Holland's friendship.
Captain America: Brave New World is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
