Avengers: Endgame has pretty much been seen by everyone these days if that billion-dollar box office record is anything to go by. The fact that this is already the number 2 box-office film shows how far planting stories can get you, with many hoping that it will eventually topple Avatar. While it was one of the most Marvel movies ever made fans were disappointed at the lack of a post-credits sequence, though a certain sound made them hopeful.
Point blank, fans are hoping that Iron Man comes back somehow if those hammer noises were anything to go by near the end. However, directors Joe and Anthony Russo have revealed that there are no plans to bring back the Golden Avenger anytime soon, though Anthony couldn't help but plant possible seeds.
Though fans were hoping that the sounds of Iron Man building his armor would actually mean something, The Russos are claiming that it's simply an appropriate way to end the film. After all, this is a movie that encapsulates everything great (and flawed) about the MCU so ending with a tribute to 2008's Iron Man was the best thing to do.
Iron Man's death won't simply be pushed under the rug though since Spider-Man: Far From Home will deal with the immediate fallout from Endgame. It's going to be interesting to see what Marvel has planned for phase four that's for sure.
Avengers: Endgame is now showing in theaters. Spider-Man: Far From Home will be coming out on July 2.
