Ten Rings may have lost one band after Simu Liu, who stars as Xu Shang-Chi in Marvel Cinematics Universe’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, proposed to his longtime non-showbiz girlfriend, Allison Hsu, in Paris.
In a post on Instagram, the MCU actor, who’s set to be part of the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday, shared the engagement news to his 3 million followers, showing off Hsu’s massive diamond ring.

All About Allison Hsu
Hsu may not be an actor, but she has built an impressive career as a senior digital marketing director at the US-based record label Interscope Records.
While finishing her course of Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Film, Television & Digital Media at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), she started as a revenue intern at the said company in 2017 until she climbed the ladder of success and got promoted in 2023.
Hsu leads the digital and social media campaigns of major artists such as Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, FINNEAS, Holly Humberstone, and other Interscope talent across TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

Allison Hsu and Simu Liu’s Relationship Timeline
Hsu and Liu started dating in 2022 after the latter’s breakup with actress Jade Bender.
They made their relationship Instagram official in November of the said year with a cozy photo together. Hsu captioned it with a simple smile.
Two weeks later, the 36-year-old actor announced the relationship in December on his own Instagram by sharing a photo of their red carpet debut as a couple at the Violent Night movie premiere in Los Angeles.
“Pictured: two asians in front of santa’s crotch,” he captioned their snap.
Since then, they’ve attended numerous high-profile events together, including the premiere of Liu’s 2023 film Barbie and the 2024 Oscars.
They’ve also traveled internationally together, like enjoying an Italian trip in May 2023.
In an interview with People in November 2023, Liu admitted he was “tremendously happy” with Hsu.
“I think everyone knows the feeling of being in a situation where they're not fully happy, and then all of a sudden for that to change ... it's such a breath of relief,” he said. “I feel challenged and loved and cared for, and I feel championed.”
The Engagement
In a post on Instagram on Sunday, May 11, Liu announced his engagement with Hsu.
“From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between, I choose you forever and always,” his caption read.
Hsu also shared a series of their sweet snaps together. “Us forever,” she wrote.
Many also celebrated with the couple, flooding their comment section with congratulatory messages.
Actress Fala Chen expressed her excitement over the upcoming marriage of her Shang-Chi co-star Liu.
“My son is getting married,” she commented.
Hsu herself left a sweet message on Liu’s post, “I love you fiancé!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
