A Quiet Place Stars Talk About The Plans For An Upcoming Sequel

A Quiet Place was a surprise hit this summer, raking in overwhelmingly positive reviews and great numbers at the box office. Now, it looks like director and actor Jon Krasinski is getting ready to work on a follow-up to his horror movie.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly together with his wife and A Quiet Place co-star Emily Blunt, Krasinski decided to open up about the possibility of having A Quiet Place 2. Both actors teased some of the ideas that they wanted to use in the sequel, saying that people have become very much invested in the Abbott family.

"In some ways, the idea of seeing who these people were before this all happened would be interesting, but I'm not quite sure because I think actually it's now what's the next chapter and what happens next," Blunt told the publication. "I think people feel very invested in this family…. I think it's such an open book right now, and certainly for John who is lasering into something as we speak."

According to Krasinski, he originally had no plans to return and work on a sequel to his hit directorial debut, however, all that changed when a lightbulb popped up and he suddenly had a new idea for a new plot.

Not only does the filmmaker tease a different world and unique experience, but Krasinski also says that A Quiet Place 2 is going to have "an actual entire set of rules and circumstances that the world has undergone that you can play in very different facets."

By the sound of it, it looks like Krasinski is thinking of another threat for the Abbot family – something different from the sound-sensitive aliens that were introduced in the first movie. Though there's also the possibility of the sequel exploring the past, this one also sounds pretty interesting.

A Quiet Place 2 is set to hit cinemas May 15, 2020.
