A Game of Thrones Fan Predicted How the Battle of Winterfell Would End Last Year

Warning: Spoilers from last Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones ahead.

Game of Thrones fans have come up with a lot of wild theories and while George R.R. Martin's novels and HBO's series proved many of them to be wrong, there's one fan theory that actually came to fruition in the last Sunday's episode.

Last Sunday, fans were treated with the longest episode of the series, titled The Long Night, yet as it featured the long-awaited Battle of Winterfell, and many would agree that the outcome was a pretty surprising one. At the end of the episode, Arya Stark managed to sneak close to the Night King and stab him with Valyrian steel before the villain can kill Bran. Almost no one knew that it was going to end up that way since the events of the show's final season haven't been featured in George. R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series since the author is still writing The Winds of Winter. However, one Redditor predicted how the Night King's death would exactly play out.

Redditor gride9000 theorized that the assassin's blade's significance would eventually surface since it kept popping up throughout the series then it made sense to the fan when Bran gave the dagger to Arya in Season 7. The Three-Eyed-Raven predicted what was going to happen, so he gave it to Arya knowing that she'd use the weapon to kill the Night King. The Redditor figured it out a year ago but some fans in the post's comments section weren't convinced.
