After Pedro Pascal, another The Last of Us star, Bella Ramsey, may be the next to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, the Game of Thrones breakout star has expressed interest in playing Spider-Man.
However, as the friendly neighborhood hero has already been portrayed by Tom Holland—who’s set to return in Spider-Man: Brand New Day—the 21-year-old told Variety in an interview that Marvel Studios might need to create “a new” superhero for them instead.
With rumors suggesting that Ramsey is “being eyed for a big MCU role,” according to Hollywood insider DanielRPK (Daniel Richtman), here are five Marvel roles that could be perfect for Ramsey.
Kitty Pryde
Marvel Studios is reportedly planning an X-Men reboot with a younger cast. If this happens, there’s a strong chance Ramsey could be one of the fan-favorite mutants of the new generation.
In fact, scooper MyTimeToShine suggested that Ramsey could take on the role of Kitty Pryde, a mutant with the ability to phase through objects.
Also known as Shadowcat, Kitty Pryde is a powerful and tactical hero, making Ramsey a strong fit for the role.
Given that she’s known for portraying the youthful, intelligent, and resilient Ellie in The Last of Us, seeing Ramsey as Kitty Pryde is probably not far from happening.
Rogue

Another X-Men role that could suit Ramsey is Rogue. Rogue has the ability to absorb others’ powers and memories, which often drives her to isolate herself and remain distant from both fellow mutants and other people.
With Ramsey’s acclaimed performances in emotionally layered roles, as proven by her two Emmy nominations, she is exceptionally well-suited for the part. She could undoubtedly bring justice to Rogue’s inner struggles, vulnerability, and strength.
Younger Jean Grey

As Marvel’s X-Men reboot is expected to start fresh, there’s a strong chance it will focus on the younger team members, including a young Jean Grey. This makes Ramsey a strong candidate for the role.
A major player in the group, Jean Grey is a cornerstone mutant with tremendous telepathic and telekinetic abilities.
Ramsey’s dramatic range makes her ideal for portraying young mutants who must navigate immense power and responsibility, just like Jean Grey.
America Chavez

If not in the X-Men, Ramsey could join the Young Avengers as America Chavez.
Like Ramsey, whose personal advocacy for LGBTQ+ representation aligns with that of the lesbian superhero of Latin-American origin, America is a bold, super-strong hero with a confident spirit and an important role in LGBTQ+ storytelling.
With Ramsey’s charisma and nuanced acting, she could easily bring depth to America’s tough yet vulnerable character.
Anyhow, this role currently belongs to Xochitl Gomez, who appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. But in the ever-changing world of the MCU, who knows what might happen next?
Squirrel Girl (Doreen Green)

Ramsey could also take on the role of the superheroine Squirrel Girl, also known as Doreen Green. A superhumanly nimble acrobat, she can climb trees, perform high jumps, and use her small claws effectively in hand-to-hand combat.
Doreen possesses enhanced strength, speed, agility, and reflexes. Beyond her superhero abilities, she is known for her upbeat personality, humor, and unique brand of heroism.
Though unconventional, Ramsey’s talent for blending drama with light-heartedness makes her perfect for the role.
While nothing is confirmed yet about Ramsay’s future in the MCU, it looks like it may soon happen.
