With no Star Wars movie coming this year, the big sci-fi moving coming in December was set to be Denis Villenueve's Dune. Rumor has come out that a trailer is going to be released soon, and Zendaya has confirmed that she's seen it.
Talking to InStyle about the trailer, Zendaya had this to say:
"Dune was incredible. I wasn't in it very much, so when I was watching the trailer, I was like, ‘Oh my gosh!' I called Timothée [Chalamet, who stars in it] and said, ‘Dude! You should be proud.' It is a big deal to even be a small part of something with such a massive cast. And I love sci-fi stuff too. It's fun to escape into another world."
With a massive cast, it would make sense that Zendaya would actually have a minimal role. Then again, I don't expect it to be any less important. In the film, she plays the part of Chani, who was the legal concubine of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet) and mother of his children. While Zendaya's role could be minimal for this movie, it's possible she could have a larger part to play when it comes to the sequel.
As for the trailer, a lot of people are really confident that it will finally come out this month. With a release set for December, it would make sense that the marketing would start to get stronger at this point. I mean, we already have stills and photos, now fans want to see a trailer.
Dune is set for a release on Dec. 18.
