You'll probably never find anything close to a Star Wars TIE Fighter in the real world but this battery-powered replica built by Allan Carver could make your dreams come true. As you can see in the video below, the TIE Fighter replica can be piloted using an RC remote, and although it's one-third the size of the film version, it's big enough to accommodate a pilot on board.
Carver used a Star Wars toy Kenner released in the '70s for scale reference on the main pod and side panels though he had to make a few minor adjustments so he could bring it out of his workshop. For other detail work, he used a newer TIE Fighter toy.
This definitely goes on the list of the best things Star Wars fans have created.
