Kelly Reilly insists that Beth won't change in Yellowstone Season 5 just because she and Rip (Cole Hauser) got married in the Season 4 finale.
When Taylor Sheridan's western re-airs in November, the couple's wedded life will reportedly be full of surprises. Additionally, they offer hints that Beth will eventually confront her past.
Beth Will Deal With Her Past in Yellowstone Season 5
The slow burn of Beth and Rip's romance is what Hauser enjoys best about Sheridan's writing. And the star of Yellowstone Season 5 thinks that the slow burn culminates in some amazing moments for the characters.
In Season 5, Reilly observed that "the war feels internal" for Beth. Her character is "haunted by the past, afraid of the future, and fighting with all she has for the present moment," she says.
"In the beginning, there's some wonderful moments between the two of us, some stuff that she's going through in her past, that she's having to acknowledge for the first time, and me trying to help her through that," Hauser said.
What traumatic events from Beth's history must she confront? Most likely, it has to do with the fact that she is unable to have children as a result of a choice taken without her permission by her adopted brother Jamie (Wes Bentley).
Beth Will Be Beth
Reilly insists her character won't change in Yellowstone Season 5 despite becoming married.
"Beth has always been devoted to Rip," Reilly told Entertainment Weekly. "Marriage does not change her. I think his love for her and hers for him is one of the very few things that keep her demons at arm's length (mostly)."
There will be changes for Rip. The first major shift for his character, according to Hauser, is that he's moved into the main house - a place Rip has never felt at ease in.

Beth Remains Unforgiving in Yellowstone Season 5
Yellowstone fans learned more about Beth and Jamie's tumultuous story through flashbacks in Season 3, and casting news this summer confirmed that more of those memories will be included in Yellowstone Season 5.
Beth is still carrying the weight of her mother's tragic death. But her fierce grudge against Jamie becomes stronger as seasons pass.
Rip has no idea Beth was pregnant with his child when they were teenagers. And he has no idea she had an abortion or that Jamie had her sterile. In Season 5, Beth may finally reconcile with her history, but Reilly claims she will never forgive her brother.
