The entire Star Wars fans are rejoicing after learning this week that Lucasfilm is currently looking for an actress to breathe life into Sabine Wren in live-action. The beloved Star Wars Rebels character will be joining the standalone Ahsoka Tano series headlined by Rosario Dawson which will also see the live-action debuts of Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn.
It's safe to assume that the production company is still in the process of searching for actors who will play Sabine but according to Slash Film's Adam Frazier's recent Twitter post, Lucasfilm has apparently already made a shortlist, and as it stands, they are currently eyeing X-Men and To All the Boys I've Loved Before star Lana Condor as well as The 100 actress Tati Gabrielle for the role. Check out the tweet here.
Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed yet so take everything with a huge grain of salt but with Ahsoka set to begin production sometime this year, it wouldn't be too farfetched to believe that Lucasfilm will drop some exciting casting announcements in the coming days so we better prepare ourselves.

I gotta say, I'm part of the majority of fans who believe that Sabine's voice actress Tiya Sircar should be given the honor of reprising the role in live-action form but it looks like she's not being considered at all. That's a total bummer considering Katee Sackhoff was cast as Bo-Katan in the MandoVerse after voicing the character for years but then again, Ahsoka's animated voice actress Ashley Eckstein wasn't considered for her live-action counterpart.
Meanwhile, hope is wearing thin that we'll get ourselves a fifth season of the animated Star Wars Rebels and by the looks of things, the series' story will continue in live-action which I think isn't that bad of an idea.
Ahsoka is slated for release sometime in 2022.
