Wonder Woman 1984 Has Been Delayed, Now Getting Summer 2020 Release

After originally being positioned for a November 2019 release, Wonder Woman 1984 lead Gal Gadot has revealed that the film is now being positioned for a June 5, 2020 release. This was due to the "changing landscape," according to both Gadot and a statement from Warner Bros. to The Hollywood Reporter. Fans will probably have a mixed response to this, though some will be happy seeing this film become a summer blockbuster.

The "changing landscape" aside, THR also claims that this was also done since a film reboot of the Six Billion Dollar Man starring Mark Wahlberg doesn't have a director yet. Because the film has been removed, it left a great opening for the highly-anticipated Wonder Woman sequel so that could also mean a bigger box office number.

One other positive about this is that it will no longer come out one month after next year's Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix. That movie is coming out next October and everyone is expecting that to be a huge hit. This way, no one will complain about DC going to back to doing superhero movies, assuming that next year's Joker film is the hit everyone wants it to be.

Wonder Woman 1984 has been getting a lot of fans interest, thanks to the success of the first movie and the return of Chris Pine, which is confusing a lot of people. He isn't Steve Rogers so how he survives that exploding plane is going to need extensive explaining. Maybe it'll be a clone but who knows?

Wonder Woman 1984 is now coming out on June 5, 2020.
