After initial reports that Willow has been canceled after one season, its creator, Jonathan Kasdan, has clarified the truth about the matter.

Deadline was the first to report that the show had been canceled by Disney+. This was then echoed by other publications, which revealed that the fate of the show had been put on hold.

Following these reports, readers assumed that the show has been axed and that a succeeding season will not be happening again. This prompted Kasdan to release a statement on Twitter to clarify these reports.

Turning to Twitter, Kasdan released a lenghty statement on Thursday night saying that "the trusth is less splashy."

"Are we going into pre-production? Not right now. Does that mean we're never gonna make it? Absolutely not."

Kasdan couldn't help but compare the show to others who had seemingly went on a break. Shows such as Atlanta, which had a four-year break between seasons 2 and 3, Curb Your Enthusiasm also had a six-year pause between seasons 8 and 9; and finally, Party Down had to wait 13 years until a third season was ordered.

"Perhaps the one thing Hollywood has consistently been great at, over its entire history, is servicing the appetites, no matter how obscure, of its consumers. And I have total confidence that, if an appetite for more Willow persists, Disney, Lucasfilm, and this amazing cast and crew will satisfy it."

And this is true. Willow isn't the only one that is currently on a hiatus. There have been plenty of films and shows that Disney has temporarily put on the back burner. The production company has also decided to slow down its Marvel Studios projects for Phase 5 and 6, which doesn't necessarily mean those titles are canceled-- but just on a hiatus.
