Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai is a popular romance anime based on Hajime Kamoshida’s light novel. The series wrapped up in October 2024, and now, with a new season expected in 2025, AoButa fans have plenty to look forward to.
Despite the anime’s popularity, it only received an English dub this year. Naturally, this was great news for Crunchyroll users, as the dubbed version finally arrived on the platform this December. However, this raises the question, what about Hulu subscribers who prefer dubbed anime? Let’s take a closer look!
Will Rascal Does Not Dream English Dub Be Available On Hulu
CloverWorks Studio’s Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai follows Sakuta Azusagawa and his experiences with “puberty syndrome,” a mysterious supernatural phenomenon affecting troubled teenagers in strange and unpredictable ways. During one of these encounters, he meets Mai Sakurajima, the love of his life.
One of the main reasons Rascal Does Not Dream stands out is its colorful cast. However, what fans especially love is the series’ defining feature: the chemistry between Sakuta and Mai!
Following the first season, a sequel movie, Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl, continues the story. While the movie’s emotional moments are intense, it was widely praised by fans.
Thanks to Aniplex of America, the series’ fanbase is set to grow even more. The English dub of season one launched on Crunchyroll on December 3, and the dubbed movie premiered at Anime Frontier (Texas) on December 8, drawing even more attention to the series.
For Hulu subscribers, there’s exciting news, the dubbed version of the anime will be available on the platform starting January 20, 2024.
What Do We Know So Far About the English Dub?
With the Rascal Does Not Dream light novel recently concluded, fans are eagerly waiting for the next season, which will cover the “University Arc.” While waiting, many may want to rewatch the first season to relive the moments when Sakuta first met Mai in her bunny costume and how their love story began.
Fans have been waiting for years for the English dub, and it’s now available on Crunchyroll, with Hulu set to get it soon. It's worth mentioning that the Blu-ray version of the first season had the "dubbed" label, even though the dub wasn’t available at the time.
It’s also interesting to note that the two movies following Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl — Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid — were both released in U.S. theaters and received the dub treatment before the anime.
The English dub features talented voice actors, including Stephen Fu as Sakuta Azusagawa, Erica Mendez as Mai Sakurajima, Lizzie Freeman as Tomoe Koga, Risa Mei as Shoko Makinohara, and many others.
