What Is Osanai and Kobato’s Relationship in Shoshimin?
Yuki Osanai and Jougorou Kobato have a reciprocal relationship rather than a dependent one, except when one of them wants to escape from something in the mystery anime.
They’re nothing more than mere acquaintances, contrary to other people's misconceptions that they are dating because they’re always together.
Kobato met Osanai in the early summer of his third year of middle school, and they later became acquainted.
For the sake of everyday peace and stability, Osanai and Kobato firmly play their roles as ordinary citizens as much as possible.
Their motto is “Be petit bourgeois," literally translated as “little citizens,” directly referring to members of the lower middle class.
As part of this setup, Osanai and Kobato use each other as an excuse or a shield to create peaceful times.
Will Osanai and Kobato End up Together? Current Status Explained
As of writing, Osanai and Kobato have yet to end up together in Shoshimin since the series is still ongoing with no signs of ending anytime soon.
They still hold on to the promise and shared dream they had in middle school, and even though they spend a lot of time together, they don’t have any romantic feelings for one another yet.
If they ever feel like understanding that kind of loving feeling, the day they understand will probably come, but for now, they don’t even care about it.
As long as they have a mutually beneficial relationship and no one wants to drop out, there’s a huge chance they could develop feelings for each other.
But bear in mind that these two characters also have no reason to stop each other if they ever want to split as part of their agreement, which could affect their romantic development.
