Released on April 26, 2024, Knuckles became the most-watched original series on Paramount+ over its premiere weekend.

But despite that, it looks like Knuckles Season 2 may never happen.
“It was a limited series, so… I don't know if that was ever truly in the cards,” Pally told The Direct.
However, he assured fans that the Sonic franchise is still going strong and is “running on a full tank of gas.” Because of that, fans can still expect more “plans and surprises” in the future.
This includes the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 4, with Ben Schwartz, Jim Carrey, Colleen O'Shaughnessey, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, and Lee Majdoub all expected to return alongside newcomer Kristen Bell, who is confirmed to voice Amy Rose.
The movie could also see Knuckles teaming up with Shadow the Hedgehog (Reeves) after the character was revealed to still be alive in the post-credits scene of Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
In addition, there are rumors that Paramount is considering a solo Shadow movie, which could continue Knuckles’ story away from Sonic, similar to what the TV series did, and developing a still-untitled Sonic Universe event film, reportedly set for release on December 22, 2028.
If true, the project may once again feature Elba as Knuckles alongside other franchise veterans and newcomers.
So even if Knuckles Season 2 never happens, fans will likely still see more of the anthropomorphic red, short-beaked echidna.

And with the revelation that Shadow the Hedgehog is still alive, he could cross paths with Knuckles in the potential second season while teaming up with other major Sonic characters.
More game-inspired characters and villains from the Sonic franchise could also be introduced, potentially setting up future movies or spin-offs within Paramount’s growing Sonic universe.
But if there’s one thing Adam Pally wants, it’s the chance to work with the show’s cast again, including Edi Patterson, Idris Elba, and Kid Cudi, after forming close friendships with them.
“I loved the cast. I mean, getting to work with Edi Patterson every day was a dream come true. I would love to do that, and then through the press for it, hanging out with Idris [Elba] was great,” he said. “And then, you know, I became really close with Scott Mescudi/Kid Cudi on that, so that’s a friendship I’ll always take with me. And yeah, I just love when you get a job like that. It’s all about the cast.”
