The new play Stranger Things: The First Shadow recently had its Broadway premiere, but fans noticed that Millie Bobby Brown did not attend the opening.

The Netflix hit is making its way to the Great White Way with a new play that serves as a prequel to the events of the series. The Duffer Brothers are involved in the production.

Why Millie Bobby Brown Skipped the Stranger Things: The First Shadow Broadway Premiere

The majority of the cast members of Stranger Things attended the Broadway opening night premiere of The First Shadow last night in New York City.

However, one name that notably skipped the event is Millie Bobby Brown. Fans have been wondering why she was not present to support the play.

According to People, the actress wasn't able to attend the premiere as she is currently busy filming Enola Holmes 3 in the UK.

Netflix announced recently that the highly anticipated third installment has started production with Brown returning to reprise her role.

Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, Matthew Modine, Brett Gelman, Priah Ferguson, and the show's creators, The Duffer Brothers, were all present during the Broadway opening night premiere.

Sadie Sink, who is also starring in another Broadway play right now, also did not attend the premiere, but she visited one of the performances during the previews.

What is Stranger Things: The First Shadow About?

Stranger Things: The First Shadow is a gripping stand-alone adventure that will pull audiences deep into the world of the show.

The play's logline: "Hawkins, 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister won’t take his radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get the hell out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family finds that a fresh start isn’t so easy… and the shadows of the past have a very long reach."

The First Shadow first premiered in the West End to massive success as it was both critically acclaimed and had sold-out shows throughout its run so far.

The Duffer Brothers have teased that the play has a connection to the upcoming fifth and final season that is slated to air on Netflix later this year.
