Barbra Streisand opened up about why she has not been active in making projects recently.
The legendary EGOT-winning icon has not starred in a movie or performed live in recent years. However, she is still working on projects such as her new album, The Secret of Life Partners: Part Two, and her best-selling 970-page memoir.
Why is Barbra Streisand Not Working on a Lot of Projects?
In a recent interview with Variety, Streisand explained why she hasn't done a lot of projects lately and admitted that she has just been "very lazy."
"I don’t like to have to work. I like to be free. I don’t like to have commitments," she said.
The EGOT winner also revealed that she is still receiving acting offers, but she has shut down the possibility of directing another movie.
"I get a lot of offers, but they’re funny offers. Well, one was good. It was something that Peter Bogdanovich was going to do, and Guillermo del Toro sent it to me, I think," she shared.
"It’s a subject that I actually love, but I’m not going to tell you. I’m not ready to direct again. I think I’ve probably had it."
Streisand has also cast doubt on the possibility of performing live again despite the release of her new album.
"Oh, God. I doubt it. But there’s a little part of me that may consider that. But the other part of me goes, why?" she said.
Is Barbra Streisand Open to Returning in Meet the Parents 4?
Recently, it was announced that a fourth Meet the Parents movie is currently in the works, with production expected to take place this year.
Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner are all expected to reprise their roles from the previous films, with Ariana Grande joining the cast.
Fans are now wondering whether Streisand is open to playing Roz Focker again in the upcoming installment.
Fortunately, it looks like she is interested in joining the project, but she has one major condition.
"Oh my God. They’d have to pay me a lot of money because I didn’t get paid what the other people got paid, and so I’m p****d off," Streisand said.
"I was in the time when women were getting paid less than the men. The head of Universal was Ron Meyer at the time, and he actually sent me a bonus check. It was very sweet."
