There is no denying that The View is one of the most popular American talk shows today. Currently in its 25th season, the show has aired on ABC as part of the network’s daytime programming block since Aug. 11, 1997, featuring a multi-generational panel of women – Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Sara Haines.
Since its debut, The View has garnered several honors and awards, including 31 Daytime Emmy Awards, three NAACP Image Awards, three nominations for People’s Choice Awards, three GLAAD Media Awards, and a Critics’ Choice Television Award.
Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Barbara Walters, and Sherri Shepherd even received an award as Outstanding Talk Show Host.
However, a new report claims that Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar may lose clout after The View execs considered the idea of bringing in a fire-breathing right-winger to the show. Keep on reading to know more details.

Whoopi Goldberg And Joy Behar Poised To Face A Major Challenge?
National Enquirer, in its upcoming June 13, 2022 issue, claimed that Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar might soon be eating crow on The View as show executives are reportedly ready to recruit a savvy conservative co-host to shake things up on the show.
Sources suggested that the dueling divas are likely to face a major challenge should the addition of fill-in panelist Alyssa Farah Griffin be finalized.
The former White House communications director is reportedly being eyed to replace Republican pundit Meghan McCain. An unnamed insider told the entertainment news outlet:
“The bosses want Alyssa. They’ve been highly impressed with her guest-hosting gigs, and it’s either her or somebody like her.”
To recall, Alyssa Farah Griffin, who held multiple positions during the Donald Trump administration, previously revealed she would have a very hard time saying no if she were offered a seat at the table on The View.

The unidentified source furthered:
“The feeling is Whoopi and Joy – and the other co-hosts – have had it too easy. They’re not fighting enough and are just too agreeable. Alyssa’s smart, she’s tough and can handle pressure. She can win arguments – and boost those sagging ratings.”
The tipster added the thought of squaring off against Alyssa Farah Griffin is giving Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar the “willies.” While they both have had stinging words for one another behind the scenes, they reportedly are eager to keep the familiar status quo.
The same source added Whoopi Goldberg is especially invested in staying at the top of the heap after bouncing back from her two-week suspension earlier this year for outrageously claiming on air that the Holocaust was “not about race!” It added:
“Producers want more drama. It’s rating gold, and with a new co-host to rattle cages that mean Whoopi and Joy are in for more stressful times.”
Both Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar have yet to comment on the reports claiming that Alyssa Farah Griffin would likely be their new co-host in The View. So, devoted supporters of the duo should take all these unverified claims with a huge grain of salt until everything is proven true and correct.

Whoopi Goldberg Filmed A New Series In April
To recall, Whoopi Goldberg took a hiatus from The View in April as she filmed Amazon Prime’s upcoming series adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s Anansi Boys. In an episode, Joy Behar announced:
"If you're wondering where Whoopi is, the girl's got a movie she's making and she will be back when she finishes whatever she's doing. So she's gone for a while."
Most, if not all, fans are aware that Whoopi Goldberg joined the cast of Anansi Boys two months ago. The View host plays the villainous Bird Woman, the dangerous God of the Birds who is looking to settle a score with the titular Anansi.
Of her inclusion in the imminent Amazon Prime series, Whoopi Goldberg said:
"I have been a fan of this book for a very long time and when Neil Gaiman told me it was being brought to the screen, I did everything I could to be part of it to help make people aware of Anansi and all his magic.”
