It was recently reported that Summer H. Howell is nearing a deal to star in Mike Flanagan's TV series remake of Carrie for Amazon.
There's no doubt that this is a highly-sought role for young actresses as it is an iconic horror character that turned the likes of Sissy Spacek and Chloe Grace Moretz into bigger movie stars. Now, it looks like they have found a new Carrie White for the next generation.

According to her IMDb page, 20-year-old actress Summer H. Howell started her acting career at the age of 8 when she was cast in the horror film Cult of Chucky.
Since then, she has consistently been cast in smaller films and built an impressive resume that shows her great talent as an actress.
Howell's IMDb page said that she "continues to train and learn new skills for work and life, including stunt training, yoga, and meditation" and "in her downtime, [she] enjoys being active, creative, reading and writing, and spending time with family, friends and her three dogs.
In recent years, she starred in films such as Time Cut, Spirit in the Blood, All Fun and Games, Abducted by My Teacher: The Elizabeth Thomas Story, and the Disney+ original movie Clouds. Some of them are in the horror genre.
If she does end up officially starring in the Carrie TV series remake, there is no doubt that it will be a major breakthrough role for her and potentially lead to her mainstream stardom in the coming years.

Mike Flanagan's Carrie TV series remake is a fresh take on the classic Stephen King novel that has been previously adapted as films before.
The project is described as a "bold and timely reimagining of the story of misfit high-schooler Carrie White, who has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother."
"After her father’s sudden and untimely death, Carrie finds herself contending with the alien landscape of public High School, a bullying scandal that shatters her community, and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers."
Flanagan will serve as the writer, executive producer, showrunner, and director of the Carrie TV series remake.
