Who Is Ethan Hawke's Character in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery?

It has long been confirmed that Ethan Hawke will be having a role in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery but it has always been declared as undisclosed. Upon the arrival of the film, Ethan Hawke's character is anticipated but it is quite something easy to miss.

His character is the mysterious guy in a white suit and sunglasses, having his hair tied up in a ponytail, who greeted everyone else upon their arrival on the island, he administers their safety protocol by putting them a vaccine straight to the throat, and he gave all of them a wristband for their rooms.

He was quite a character, to be fair, because he is so shrouded with mystery that he administered a vaccine without even telling them its contents, plus he seemed to shy away from dealing with everyone else's matter, and just gets the job done.

Other than that, his appearance in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is just a short but sweet one, and the reason behind his cameo appearance is quite simple -- he is a fan of Rian Johnson and having a small role in one of his films means a lot to Ethan Hawke.

Speaking with Deadline before the release of Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Rian Johnson revealed, “I think we can say that people know Ethan Hawke is in the movie.”

Johnson added, “He was in Budapest doing Moon Knight with Oscar Isaac, and he very kindly came down with his family for a weekend to do that one little scene. It was at the beginning of our shoot, so he was like a saint, blessing us. He gave us his blessing and then kind of vanished off into the sunset.”

Ethan Hawke has recently appeared on Moon Knight as Arthur Harrow and he was introduced as the religious zealot who praises the Egyptian deity, Ammit, and whether he'll return for more in the MCU remains anybody's guess.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is now streaming on Netflix. Moon Knight is up on Disney Plus.
