Carrie Bradshaw has long been searching for her one true love since the original series, Sex and the City. Now that its spinoff, And Just Like That, has closed its final episode, do we finally get to see Carrie satisfied with her endgame in the story? Read on to find out.

How Did Carrie Bradshaw’s And Just Like That Story End?

While trailers for And Just Like That season 3 teased Carrie Bradshaw rekindling her flame with her second true love, Aidan Shaw (played by John Corbett), they do not end up together.

Similar to how they broke up in their Sex and the City years, Aidan is still struggling with his trust issues towards Carrie’s past infidelity with Mr. Big (Chris North) and the fact that, in this spinoff, Aidan also ended up cheating on Carrie by sleeping with his ex-wife. So, talk about crazy karma.

So, how does Carrie deal with this one in the spinoff? Well, she admitted to herself that “I know I’ve lived alone a lot, but I’ve never lived alone without the thought that I wouldn’t be alone for long.”

Carrie had initially hoped Aidan would be the answer to her loneliness problem. But essentially, Carrie took this opportunity to reflect on herself, and she had to stop thinking that a man could be her solution.

That answer becomes clearer when she’s eating alone in a restaurant, and the staff intentionally placed a boy doll across her seat so that she “wouldn’t feel alone.”

Carrie, being Carrie, took this opportunity to rewrite her novel’s epilogue.

As she celebrated Thanksgiving and sang karaoke by herself while digging into desserts, she instead writes, “The woman realized she was not alone. She was on her own”, which is a better spin on the end of her story.

Meanwhile, What Happened to Charlotte and Miranda’s Endings in the Spinoff?

And Just Like That season 3 also concluded the journeys of Carrie’s best friends: Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis).

Remember how every fan hated how Miranda, a bona fide city lover, ended up in the suburbs in Brooklyn in Sex and the City

Well, things took quite a turn for her in the spinoff. Apart from divorcing Steve (David Eigenberg), she then had to worry about their son, Brady (Niall Cunningham), having a baby with a girl he “hooked up with maybe twice.”

While she fears Brady is not thinking straight, her new love life at least seemed to help ease some part of the major move.

Miranda had to navigate things with her new partner, Joy (Dolly Wells), who appeared hesitant about spending Thanksgiving with her family. Avoidant at social events, like Miranda used to be.

But it all worked out in the end when Joy changed her mind and said, “You spent the holiday with my family, I can spend it with yours.”

Charlotte York, who had been having marital problems ever since Harry (Evan Handler) got diagnosed with cancer, managed to somehow turn the tide the minute Harry came home for Thanksgiving. The two made love, reviving what they lost in the course of their marriage.
