What Happened in Mushoku Tensei’s Teleport Incident?
So far, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation has seen five turning points in the light novel. The first of these is the Mass Teleportation incident that happened in the anime during the first season.
Technically, the incident happened in the first season’s eighth episode, though it was already foreshadowed in Episode 7, with Eris’ grandfather Sauros seeing a ball of light in the sky which he believes to be an ominous sign.
In Episode 8, while Rudeus Greyrat was practicing with his staff alongside Eris and Ghislaine, they were attacked by Arumanfi. Then, a burst of light envelops them, teleporting Rudeus and Eris to the Demon Continent.
Thus begins Rudeus and Eris’ new adventure to go back to Roa. Elsewhere, other major characters have also been teleported to other areas.
For instance, Sylphiette was teleported to the Asura Kingdom. Meanwhile, Roxy Migurdia joins up with Elinalise and Tallhand to look for Rudeus.
As for the rest of the world, the Fittoa Region suffered many casualties. The effects of this turning point continued to be felt even in the latter parts of the series.

Who Caused the Mass Teleportation in Mushoku Tensei, Explained
It wasn’t Rudeus that caused the first turning point in Mushoku Tensei, though his arrival in the world is connected to it as revealed in the later light novels.
The incident was caused by Playback Miko whose real name is Lilia. She has the power to rewind time for up to 24 hours.
80 years into the future, Playback Miko used her power to summon Shinohara Akito from another world. Shinohara was believed to be the savior of their nation.
It turns out that Shinohara was just a regular human with no special abilities. Still, Playback Miko fell in love with him. Sadly, Shinohara died on the battlefield.
In response, Playback Miko used her power to summon Shinohara’s girlfriend Nanahoshi as she has the same feelings for him. Playback Miko summoned Shinohara 80 years in the past.
The attempt to summon Nanahoshi opened up a rift in space, causing Rudeus to be reborn in the fantasy world. This summoning was also the cause of a reaction from the world, resulting in the Teleport Incident.
