Which Solo Leveling Actor Stars in Generic Kowloon Romance?
Solo Leveling Season 1 centers around the determined hunter Sung Jin-Woo on his intense journey to becoming a powerful hunter by battling monsters from other dimensions and leveling up.
The Japanese actor chosen to voice Sung Jin-Woo was Taito Ben, who gave an impressive performance, especially in Episode 4, where the hunter goes all out to defeat the Blue Venom-Fanged Kasaka.
Taito Ben even shared that during one of the recording sessions, he put so much energy into yelling during a fight scene that he ended up coughing up blood. Fans speculate this happened while working on Episode 4.
His efforts led to his return for Solo Leveling Season 2 to voice the same character. Taito Ban will also appear in the upcoming slice-of-life and sci-fi romance series, Generic Kowloon Romance.
In this new project, he will voice Tao Gwen, a character with a mysterious vibe. The cast also includes Haruka Shiraishi as Reiko Kujirai, Tomokazu Sugita as Hajime Kudou, Ryotaro Okiayu as Miyuki Hebinuma, and Aoi Kaga as Taomay.
While the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s confirmed that the show will begin airing in April 2025 on streaming platforms like Crunchyroll. A live-action movie adaptation of the series will also be released in the same year.

Generic Kowloon Romance is based on the manga by After The Rain author Jun Mayuzuki, which began publishing in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine in November 2019.

The line between past, present, and future blurs when one of them begins to show romantic feelings for the other, triggering a series of mysterious events.
2025 looks like it will be a great year for romance anime! Recently, several romance anime have announced sequel seasons, such as My Happy Marriage and The Apothecary Diaries, while manga like The Fragrant Flower Blooms With Dignity and Honey Lemon Soda are getting the anime treatment.
