The Inbetweeners is one of the most iconic British coming-of-age comedies, with a brutally accurate portrayal of teenage life in school. The show lasted for three seasons originally, but later spawned a successful film franchise that, over 12 years later, is set to become a trilogy.

The series follows the lives of four socially awkward suburban teenagers as they navigate the pitfalls of a UK secondary school, hormonal urges, and failed attempts at being cool. Meanwhile, the movies look at their lives post-school on two outrageous holidays.

What to Expect From The Inbetweeners 3

Netflix recently announced that the third Inbetweeners movie has already started filming, more than 10 years after the second film was released.

Once again, the new installment will follow another misadventure of Will McKenzie (Simon Bird), Simon Cooper (Joe Thomas), Jay Cartwright (James Buckley), and Neil Sutherland (Blake Harrison). The entire main cast will return, as seen in the preview trailer.

Original creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, who are also directing and writing the film, said in the announcement:

  • "It's been super-fun hanging out with our friends again, and we're going to work hard every week to ensure there are no problemos making this new film for humans."

So far, no release window has been set for the highly anticipated third installment, but stay tuned as we'll update this article once we find out more.
