After a decade has passed since Madagascar: Europe’s Most Wanted was released, the third installment boasts the highest critical score and the largest box office return of $747 million worldwide among the three movies. So, how come Madagascar 4 still has no news?

In 2014, DreamWorks first made the official announcement of their return with a fourth film, initially slated for a 2018 release. However, Madagascar 4 never made it to the big screens.

As it turns out, DreamWorks pulled Madagascar 4 off its schedule as a part of the studio’s release restructuring.

Considering that they still managed to produce a Kung Fu Panda 4 with a potential Furious Five spin-off, and a Shrek 5 movie releasing next year, it’s likely that Madagascar 4 will also see its return soon enough. However, we don't know this for sure with nothing official confirmed just yet — stay tuned for future updates!
