The new horror series IT: Welcome to Derry has been taking fans by storm due to its deepening mythology of Pennywise and the town of Derry, creating an altogether darker tone compared to the films that expand on what Stephen King originally created.
Set in 1962, the story follows a couple with their son who move to Derry, Maine, just as a young boy disappears. With their arrival, very bad things begin to happen in the town.

Best VPNs to Use to Watch IT: Welcome to Derry
A VPN allows you to bypass geo-restrictions by making it appear as though you’re accessing the internet from another country. This makes it easy to stream movies and shows that aren’t available in your region — in this case, IT: Welcome to Derry.
In our opinion, ExpressVPN and VeePN are two of the very best VPNs for streaming.
Lots of Servers

Budget-friendly

ExpressVPN shines with a robust network of over 3,000 servers across 105 countries, offering consistently fast and reliable connections. VeePN, on the other hand, features more than 2,600 servers and stands out as a budget-friendly alternative, starting at just $1.99 per month.
Both VPNs bring distinct advantages: ExpressVPN excels in speed and global coverage, while VeePN delivers impressive value for the price. Whether you want to stream titles like IT: Welcome to Derry or access other region-locked content, either service can meet your needs effectively.
Other VPN Options to Consider
If ExpressVPN or VeePN aren't for you, here are some other top VPN services to consider:
- NordVPN: Offers strong security and provides excellent server speeds
- Surfshark: Unlimited device connections at an affordable value
- CyberGhost: Known for its fast speed and reliable server networks across countries
- Private Internet Access: Known for strong privacy features and an affordable, feature-rich VPN service
A VPN does more than unlock exclusive streaming content — it also provides essential privacy and security benefits. By masking your IP address, you shield your online activity from ISPs, advertisers, and other trackers. At the same time, it encrypts your connection, safeguarding your data and reducing your risk of cyber threats.
With benefits like these, keeping your VPN active at all times, not just when streaming titles like IT: Welcome to Derry, is the smarter, safer choice for your online security.
Is IT: Welcome to Derry Already Renewed for Second Season?

So far, HBO has not renewed IT: Welcome to Derry for a second season, but considering that it is a ratings hit, it wouldn't be surprising if they make an announcement anytime soon.
Speaking with EW, director and executive producer Andy Muschietti teased that they already have a three-season plan for the series, which will expand the mythology in past settings even further.
- "We’re still keeping that perspective, but there’s a handover to a second season and a third season that will explore more of the other side because it’s really connected to the origin of It and the reasons why It is on this plane of existence," he said.
- "The idea, on the longer arc of the series, is to open the door to that bigger, wider mythology to see the iceberg under the water and everything that is not perceivable by humans. I can’t tell you too much about seasons 2 and 3, but we are gonna see more of the mythology and the world that is behind the veil."
For now, only one season of IT: Welcome to Derry exists, but who knows what might come in the future. Stay tuned to find out more.
