The upcoming black comedy Digger has quickly become one of the year's most anticipated films, thanks to an unrecognizable Tom Cruise shedding his action-hero image to play a balding, eccentric oil tycoon.
The story follows the most powerful man in the world who embarks on a frantic mission to prove he is humanity’s savior before the disaster he’s unleashed destroys everything.
Want to know where to stream the movie? Here's where to watch Digger, along with VPN recommendations if it's unavailable in your region.
Where to Watch Digger Online
At the time of writing, Digger is not yet available to stream, nor is it available to buy or rent on PVOD platforms.
It is set for release in theaters on October 2, and, usually, theatrical films arrive on PVOD platforms a minimum of 45 days after their cinema debut. If this happens, Digger could become available to buy or rent starting in late November 2026, or sometime before the end of the year.
Like most PVOD releases, the expected pricing will likely fall within the standard range for new digital releases:
- Purchase: typically around $19.99–$29.99
- Rental: typically around $14.99–$24.99 for a 48-hour viewing window
Since the film is a Warner Bros. release, it will likely be available on HBO Max. It might arrive on the streamer around 3-4 months after it opens in theaters.

Everything We Know So Far About Digger
Digger serves as the comeback theatrical movie for Oscar-winning filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu, and he teams up with Tom Cruise for the first time.
The cast also includes Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Jesse Plemons. Iñárritu directed from a screenplay by Iñárritu & Oscar winners Alexander Dinelaris & Nicolás Giacobone, and Sabina Berman; story by Berman & Iñárritu and Jez Butterworth.
The film was shot with VistaVision cameras, giving a unique visual flavor, unlike most of the theatrical releases that we usually see.
"Performance is not just about me. It’s about the environment, it’s setting, it’s tone—all of that is important. You want to prepare, prepare, prepare, and we’re deliberate, but you want surprises," Cruise teased in an interview.
"We all had an idea of what it was going to be, but there were always those surprises, and it has an organic feel to it. Those are the things that I enjoy. I enjoy films like that. I like the way that looks."
It will release in theaters and IMAX across North America on October 2, and internationally beginning September 30.
