But since her last major role in 2019’s Dark Phoenix, she’s taken a step back from the spotlight and slowly disappeared.

Lawrence quickly rose to the peak of her career after joining the X-Men franchise in 2011 and winning an Academy Award for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook opposite Bradley Cooper in 2012.
This success was followed by another major franchise, The Hunger Games, and a series of hit films like House at the End of the Street, The Devil You Know, and American Hustle.
However, by 2016, her career began to fluctuate. Films like Passengers, Mother!, and Red Sparrow received mixed-to-negative reviews and struggled at the box office.
And it wasn't just fans and critics who noticed the decline; Lawrence herself acknowledged the change.
“I was not pumping out the quality that I should have,” she admitted in a 2022 interview with Vanity Fair. “I just think everybody had gotten sick of me. I'd gotten sick of me. It had just gotten to a point where I couldn't do anything right. If I walked a red carpet, it was, ‘Why didn’t she run?’”
Despite her waning popularity, JLaw stayed grounded. Her best friend, Justine Polsky, revealed that fame had taken its toll on her.
“The protocol of stardom began to kill her creative spirit, to fuck with her compass. So, she vanished, which was probably the most responsible way to protect her gifts. And sanity.”
Eventually, Lawrence realized that she didn’t have a life outside of her career. So, she decided to “go get one” by stepping away from the spotlight and starting a family.

Lawrence’s personal decision to step back from Hollywood and focus on her personal life, marrying art gallerist Cooke Maroney.
Today, she finds joy in life’s simple pleasures, like grocery shopping with her husband and building a family away from the spotlight.
“I really enjoy going to the grocery store with him. I don't know why but it fills me with a lot of joy. I think maybe because it's almost a metaphor for marriage,” she explained. “'Okay, we've got this list. These are the things we need. Let's work together and get this done.”
Although known for being outspoken, Lawrence is fiercely private when it comes to her children.
In fact, she quietly gave birth to her second child in New York City without public fanfare. She and Maroney welcomed their first child, Cy, in 2022.
“Every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can. I don't want anyone to feel welcome into their existence,” she said about keeping her kids’ lives private. “And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work.”
Lawrence has three upcoming projects: The Old Blue Eyes, The Eyes, and an untitled project with Amy Schumer.
