One Punch Man fans have been eagerly awaiting updates on Saitama’s return, and it's finally happening. The smash-hit shounen anime delivered two action-packed seasons, leaving fans wanting more after a four-year gap.
Now, the third season has a confirmed release window, along with exciting news for the series’ 10th anniversary. Check out all the details below!
When Will One Punch Man Season 3 Air?
When the first trailer for One Punch Man Season 3 dropped this March, fans were eager to see Saitama back in action. However, it wasn’t until recently that the release window for the new season was announced.
The anime’s official X account confirmed that One Punch Man Season 3 is set to release in 2025, though the exact date is still unknown.
The third season will be released in conjunction with the anime’s 10th anniversary as part of the "Ten Punch Project." This includes a new visual, a trailer recapping Saitama’s journey in Seasons 1 and 2, and more surprises.
One of the major events announced so far is a live concert featuring performances of the show’s OST, as well as a voice acting event called the One Punch Magic Music Festival.
It was confirmed in March that J.C. Staff will handle Season 3, similar to their work on Season 2. The announcement received mixed reactions, as some fans noted a change in video and audio quality compared to Madhouse’s work on Season 1.
However, considering the gap between Seasons 2 and 3, it’s plausible that J.C. Staff is addressing feedback to improve the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, the creators of the One Punch Man manga, ONE and Yusuke Murata, have taken a break from writing the manga, placing it on hiatus earlier this June 2024.
What Can Fans Expect From Saitama in One Punch Man Season 3?
Based on the events in the manga, Season 3 is expected to continue the Monster Association Arc, which explores the growing conflict between the Hero Association and various threats, including the mysterious Monster Association.
This arc is a massive one, and it's unclear whether it will be fully covered in Season 3. However, it seems likely that the season will build toward a war between the Hero Association and the Monsters, possibly culminating in a showdown between the powerful Garou and the cyborg Genos.
Of course, One Punch Man wouldn't be complete without Saitama’s usual indifference to his battles, but fans can also look forward to further developments for Genos, Mumen Rider, and other supporting heroes.
