When Will Ayumu Make His Move: First Impressions
Based on an ongoing slice of life manga by Sōichirō Yamamoto - also the creator of Teasing Master Takagi-san - When Will Ayumu Make His Move follows Ayumu Tanaka, a first-year high-schooler who decides to join his school's unofficial Shogi club.
Urushi Yaotome, his senpai and the club's only other member, is glad to finally have a shogi partner and endeavors to teach him all she knows.
Urushi is aware of Ayumu's crush on her and tries to get a confession out of him. For his part, Ayumu has resolved not to confess until he can beat her in a game of shogi.
So far, this hasn't happened, but the two students already act almost as if they're dating.
For the time being, When Will Ayumu Make His Move hasn't shown the hilarious sparkle of similarly themed works such as Kaguya-sama: Love is War but it's early days for the romance anime - which seems fun so far!
