The highly-anticipated season 2 of the hit anime series Kaiju No. 8 is set to release next year to the excitement of many fans who have been looking forward to its return.
After the massive success of the first season earlier this year, there is anticipation for the second season which will continue the adventure of Kafka and the Defense Force.
When is Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 Coming Out?
It was recently confirmed that the highly-anticipated season 2 of Kaiju No. 8 is set to premiere in July 2025.
There is no release date set yet for the second season, but it will be broadcast on TV Tokyo just like the first season. It will also stream on Crunchyroll in the international markets.
A teaser poster was also released alongside the announcement of the release window, giving fans their first early glimpse at the new season.
In the meantime, a compilation movie of the first season episodes alongside a new episode will be released in theaters early next year to hype up the fans who are looking forward to the new season.
While the plot details regarding season 2 are still under wraps, fans can expect them to continue the storyline from the first season with Kafka's secret identity now out in the open.
What to Expect in Kaiju No. 8 Movie
The Kaiju No. 8 movie will be a compilation of all twelve episodes in the first season of the anime series.
It will also feature a new one-off episode titled "Hoshina’s Day Off" as an extra treat for fans who are going to relieve the anime series on the big screen.
"Hoshina's Day Off" will follow the Defense Force Vice Captain Hoshina, Reno Ichikawa, and Iharu Furuhashi on their day off from the action. It is set to be a light-hearted adventure that explores the character's friendship.
It will be released in theaters in Japan on March 28, 2025. It will be available in 32 theaters nationwide for three weeks only.
There are no details yet on whether it will also be released in the international markets or be available on a streaming platform.
