The highly anticipated second season of Seth MacFarlane's Peacock comedy series Ted is finally arriving next year. When should fans expect its release?

Following the massive success of the first season when it was released in early 2024, Peacock renewed the prequel series for a second season, and, since then, fans have been patiently waiting to see John Bennett and the raunchy teddy bear's next adventure in the 1990s. Now, after an almost two-year wait, we finally know when it is coming out.

It was recently announced that all eight episodes of the second season of Ted will premiere on March 5, 2026, on Peacock.

"We've made a second season of our show Ted, which we are excited to share with you. The episodes represent the hard work of our fellow writers, gifted actors, and talented crew, including the visual effects team who bring the character of Ted so convincingly to life," Seth MacFarlane and his team said in the announcement.

"We hope you enjoy these eight somewhat filthy, hopefully funny heartfelt episodes about a young man, his talking teddy bear, and their highly dysfunctional family. On the off-chance the series is not your cup of tea, a great way to get us back is to leave all the episodes playing to completion on multiple devices throughout the house. That'll show us."

MacFarlane (as the voice of Ted), Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Scott Grimes, and Giorgia Whigham are all confirmed to reprise their roles from the first season.

The second season will take place in 1994. Senior year of high school is underway for Ted the foul-mouthed teddy bear and his best friend, likable but awkward John Bennett. Together, they live in a working-class Boston home with John's parents and cousin Blaire.

What is the Future of the Ted Franchise?

So far, there is no announcement yet on whether the Ted live-action prequel series will have a third season, since Peacock might decide depending on the viewership of the second season.

However, they are currently working on Ted: The Animated Series, which will continue the events from the live-action films. MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth will reprise their roles.

There are no details yet on when the animated series will be released, but at the very least, fans have more Ted content to expect in the next few years.
