When Paramount+ released Halo, it pleased the avid fans of the video game. So much so that they're now looking forward to the second season. The show was developed by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane.
The TV show is based on the hit video game franchise but with added stories and characters. It has gotten the approval of the game's loyal fans, especially since it took more than 20 years for the game to be adapted into a live-action series.
Halo Season 1, however, was more of a prequel than the main event itself. And this is why fans are hoping the show returns to continue where it left off.
The good news is that Halo Season 2 has already been confirmed. The big question left for loyal fans of the military science fiction series is, when will Halo Season 2 be released?
Well, here's everything we know about the show right now:
Halo Season 2 Release Date
Before Halo Season 1 even premiered, the show was already renewed for a second season. The announcement was made during a ViacomCBS presentation.
Paramount+'s chief content officer of scripted originals David Nevins said during the show renewal: "This second-season pickup reflects the confidence we have in the power of this epic series to attract and engage viewers. Halo has been a great collaboration with Amblin and 343 Industries, and we are all grateful for the opportunity to continue it."
Unfortunately, we don't know yet when Halo Season 2 will be released. It's hard to make a prediction on when the second season will premiere since the first season had one of the longest development periods.
Apart from taking over 20 years to be adapted into a live-action series, the show was supposed to air in 2015. Unfortunately, this did not go according to plan and the show has finally aired on Paramount+.
It's possible that Halo Season 2 could make its debut in 2023 or 2024, especially if they want to maintain the positive reception they already gained for the first season.
Potential Halo Season 2 Story
As mentioned, the 9-episode Halo Season 1 gave a precursor to the main event of the game. And this is what fans are looking forward to in the second season.
When the show returns, it will need to separate Cortana from the body of the Master Chief. This is because he is the only one who knows how to activate the Keystones now that Makee is dead.
Another subplot that Halo Season 2 needs to focus on is the Insurrectionist story on Madrigaal. It was one of the major plots the entire season. Despite this, it did not get included in the finale.
Halo Season 2 Cast: Who Will Be In It
Right now, we don't know for sure who will be part of Halo Season 2. But it's possible that the main cast could return:
- Pablo Schreiber (as Master Chief)
- Charlie Murphy (as Makee)
- Kate Kennedy (as Kai-125)
- Natascha McElhone (as Cortana/Dr. Catherine Halsey)
- Yerin Ha (as Kwan Ha)
- Jen Taylor (as Cortana)
When it comes to the production crew, however, there are some changes that will be happening for Halo Season 2. For starters, Kyle Killen and Steven Kane have announced that they will be departing from the show. David Wiener, the show's executive producer, will be taking over for Season 2.
Is There a Halo Season 2 Trailer?
Right now, there is no trailer for Halo Season 2 yet. We don't know when filming will start for the second season so there isn't enough material to use to make the trailer as of this writing.
