Update: 8/4/22 4:00 am +8:00 UTC:
Netflix has decided to cancel First Kill so a Season 2 will not be happening.
----
First Kill is one of Netflix's most recently released originals. Having only been released over a month ago, many can’t help but wonder if the streaming service has plans to release First Kill Season 2 anytime soon.
Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on whether the supernatural teen drama series will be renewed for a second season. What else do we know about the series? Read on for more.
Will There be a First Kill Season 2?
As evidenced in First Kill Season 1, its producers have plans to turn it into a multi-series show. This is evidenced in the numerous plot twists introduced in the first season. And getting an answer to these surprises are what fans look forward to in future episodes.
But as of this writing, First Kill has not yet been renewed by Netflix. Usually, the streaming service decides to renew a new series based on how well Season 1 was accepted by the audience.
In First Kill’s case, it’s still too early to tell whether the show will get picked up. Right now, First Kill Season 1 has been viewed for about 30.34 million hours. If viewership drops over 50%, First Kill doesn’t stand a chance.
In an interview with The Wrap, Sarah Catherine Hook (as Juliette Fairmont) said "I think if you guys would just watch the show and make sure that it is top 10 on Netflix so that we can get to season two, then I'm pretty sure we can come back. So just put it on. Everyone in the world, just put it on your TV and we'll all be okay. We will be back. Don't worry."
And either way, if the show gets renewed, it's way too early to make any predictions on when a second season will get released. If it does get renewed, it won't be released until 2023.
