If the US has Survivor, South Korea has the next best thing: Physical: 100. The reality survival show is a cross between Survivor and American Ninja Warrior. And with the impressive numbers of the second season, many are asking: when does Physical:100 S3 start? Here's what we know about the third season so far.
Has Physical: 100 Been Renewed for a Third Season?
As of this writing, Netflix has not yet made an official announcement on whether Physical: 100 will be returning for a third season. But from the final moments of Physical: 100 season 2, things are looking up for the show's fans.
With the growing popularity and fanbase of the franchise, we can already expect the third season to be of grander scale. This was evidenced in the finale of the second season.
The show's iconic ending with a pile of torso statues and a voiceover that says: "Our search for the perfect physique… will continue." But after a series of shots of athletes in various sports, the graphic shows: Physical: 100 - Asia.
This leads us to expect that the reality competition could be expanding in the third season and could include international contestants from the continent.
When Does Physical: 100 Season 3 Start?
Since the third season has not yet been officially announced, we don't know yet when its release date will be. But looking at the release dates of the two seasons, the show came out in the first quarter of the year.
Netflix could follow this schedule and might release Physical: 100 season 3 by April 2025.
It's also possible that they are getting ready to screen contestants for the third season so they can start shooting right away.
Considering there were a number of standout players from the past two seasons, Netflix could bring them back for the third season too.
Show creator, Jang Ho-Gi spoke about how fans continue to show interest in "the current whereabouts of participants that were eliminated from the matches in the first and second seasons" and that the fans were eager to see "prematurely eliminated" contestants make a comeback.
Jang also expressed his own interest in having international contestants for the third season and potentially forming teams based on their nationalities.
So there you have it. Physical: 100's return for a third season could open the show's doors for huge expansion across continents.
