WARNING: This article contains MAJOR SPOILERS for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2, so proceed with caution.
How Many Episodes Does Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 Have?
The Percy Jackson series creator, Rick Riordan, wanted a better adaptation of his original novel series, which makes eight episodes the perfect number of episodes to adapt each book into its own season.
While the first season is based on the first book, Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief, the second season (newly released) is based on book 2: The Sea of Monsters.
It may be summer off Camp Half-Blood, but it didn't stop Percy from dreaming that his best friend, Grover, is in trouble. Annabeth gets a premonition that the camp may be in trouble, too.
It's up to Percy and Annabeth to keep the prophecy from coming true in season 2. That being said, here are the eight episodes coming out for Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2:
- Season 2 Episode 1 - I Play Dodgeball with Cannibals
- Season 2 Episode 2 - Demon Pigeons Attack
- Season 2 Episode 3 - We Board the Princess Andromeda
- Season 2 Episode 4 - Clarisse Blows Up Everything
- Season 2 Episode 5 - We Check In to C.C.'s Spa & Resort
- Season 2 Episode 6 - Nobody Gets the Fleece
- Season 2 Episode 7 - I Go Down with the Ship
- Season 2 Episode 8 - The Fleece Works Its Magic Too Well

Percy, Annabeth, and Tyson may have escaped Tantalus' wrath from Camp Half-Blood, but their quest for the Golden Fleece continues to prove just how dangerous their new mission really is.
No Time For Sentiments: Annabeth's Backstory with Thalia & Luke
Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2 episode 4, titled Clarisse Blows Up Everything, first finds Annabeth recounting the moments before Thalia died and before Luke pledged his loyalty to Kronos.
The episode highlights how it's almost impossible for Annabeth to simply discard Luke, a guy she considers to be her brother, after everything they've been through in the past. Annabeth blames herself for what happened to Thalia, despite not knowing the risks they took to take her younger version to Camp Half-Blood with Grover.
But how is it a Percy Jackson series if they're not going to get into trouble every episode, right? In this case, Clarisse and her undead crew tracked them down and forced Percy to tell her the accurate coordinates to the Sea of Monsters.
Annabeth took the opportunity to bargain with Clarisse. Apart from Annabeth's knowledge of the trials they have to face on the Sea of Monsters, Tyson (Percy's half-blood cyclops-demigod brother) knows his way around engineering, and Percy knows how to navigate the sea as the son of Poseidon.
Clarisse didn't take her chances, considering her own crew possessed all the experience and skills she needed on the boat. While she was distracted in taking Percy in a one-on-one battle, Annabeth extinguished the crew that Clarisse boasted about, leaving them with no choice but to work together.

On the boat, Clarisse gets vulnerable at the thought of making a major decision on their first step to the Sea of Monsters. They had two choices: to face the Scylla (sea monster with six heads) or the Charybdis (a deadly whirlpool vortex).
While the daughter of Ares is considering Annabeth's plan to sacrifice six of her crew, she reveals the reason behind her hesitation: she promised them Elysium, the Underworld's paradise for heroes and virtuous mortals, once they win this battle to prove themselves worthy of it.
But seeing as they had no other choice to win against the Scylla (the more obvious choice to pick after Odysseus's victory), Clarisse knew she had to risk her crew and their honor.
Clarisse also reveals to Percy the prophecy the oracle told her, specifically the warning of potentially coming home empty-handed, should she find no friends to rely on this Golden Fleece quest. Percy agreed with the oracle and tried to empathize that their first season quest wouldn't have been a success without Grover and Annabeth on his side, after all.
Where Were Our Demigods Taken to in the Next Episode?
Clarisse decided that the undead crew wasn't going to sacrifice themselves for nothing. She steered the ship towards the Scylla, leaving Percy and Annabeth to clean the mess. As Clarisse attempted to vanquish the creature with ammo, Percy had the plan to turn the tide and steer the boat away from the enemy, while Annabeth was going to help using Hermes's thermos.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. The thermos went amok inside the ship where Tyson was, Clarisse, her crew, and the ship got blown into the waters, leaving Percy standing on the edge of the boat with nothing to turn to or hold onto.
As per the fifth episode trailer, it would seem that our demigods had been taken to Circe's island, where they could seek help in reaching the exact coordinates of the Sea of Monsters.
