In a recent interview, Horikoshi opened up about his plans following the conclusion of the My Hero Academia manga.

While he didn't share any details regarding the story of his new project, he teased that he is readying to start his next manga.

"I feel really lucky over the success of MHA, so I know there's a lot of pressure around my next move. I'm planning to start a new manga as soon as I possibly can," the manga artist said.

"I was thinking to committing myself to simply drawing my next project, and letting someone else write the story, but my editor advised me 'It will be better if you do it all yourself.'"

Horikoshi continued, "With that in mind, I've slowly started writing and drawing the thumbnails of my next manga. However, there are still several events left surrounding MHA, so for a while I'll still be committed to supporting and promoting it."

Is Kohei Horikoshi Working on Another My Hero Academia Story?

Horikoshi did not indicate any plans to work on a new story set in the universe of My Hero Academia.

However, as he said in the interview, he will still be involved in the anime series for the remainder of its run. It is slated to air its eighth and final season next year.

Considering how My Hero Academia has become a massive hit for the past several years, we cannot rule out a potential return years later after the anime ends.

For now, fans should watch out for any news and updates regarding Horikoshi's next work and, hopefully, it will have the same quality as My Hero Academia.
