Spoof movies are trying to claw their way back to Hollywood (and it's working).
With the Wayans Brothers confirming that they're adding another installment to the Scary Movie franchise, here are the top horror movies that fans should expect to see spoofed in the sixth film!
What Horror Flicks will Scary Movie 6 Spoof Next?
As the Wayans Brothers reunite for a sixth Scary Movie installment, Marlon teases on ComicBook.com the few modern horror flicks they're planning to include: "I mean, you know, I'm just a fan of the whole genre, man."
"I Know What You Did Last Summer may have something in there," Marlon added, "I think the Scream franchise is always a great one. I think Heretic was a wonderful film. Longlegs. Get Out. Nope. There are just so many great horror films to pull from that we plan on having a field day. Sinners."
Considering the success the first two Scary Movies garnered, it's no wonder the Wayans Brothers would want to expand on the franchise's potential. However, Scary Movies 3, 4, and 5, which parodied the likes of The Ring, The Others, The Grudge, the Saw franchise, and the like, didn't hit home for fans.
However, spoofs like The Naked Gun, which grossed $52.4 million in the US and Canada, and $47 million in other territories, with a worldwide total of $99.4 million, are giving fans hope that Scary Movie 6 could bring back the former spark it introduced to horror and parody fanatics.
Why Did Scary Movie 6 Take This Long to Make?

The time for Scary Movie 6's premiere couldn't have been more perfect.
In August, the Wayans Brothers confirmed that the sixth installment was going to return them to the franchise, along with original stars and onscreen BFFs Anna Faris and Regina Hall.
The Wayans reclaimed their comeback in 2024, where they expressed their excitement to give what fans have long been waiting for "after nearly 20 years." This time around, the Wayans are back on the desk after an 18-year hiatus.
