What Are Dragon Balls?

Dragon balls are artifacts in the form of crystalline spheres. They come in different colors and sizes. All of the balls have pointed stars inside, ranging from one to seven. Each ball is powerless but once they are together, they can call the Eternal Dragon that will grant a wish.

The wishes will be granted the same way the wisher wanted it to. In the case of King Piccolo, he wished for youth. Instead of becoming a child, he turned back to his prime years. With the power that one can get from the balls, the protagonists plan to compile it.

The balls are scattered on different planets so it would take a lot of time and effort before one can claim seven balls. In fact, it would require the wisher to travel all over the globe just to complete it.

After the wish has been granted, the balls will return to their respective planets again. The good news is that one of the seven balls can be stopped from being scattered, giving the next wisher a chance to lessen the hunt.

It is also important to note that it will take a year before the balls can be used again. However, there were two instances wherein the balls were used in the same year. The first one was when Shenron was revived after King Piccolo used it and the other time was when Piccolo was revived.
