Science fiction shows are gaining more and more fans in the present – and HBO has no better example than Westworld, especially with the franchise returning for its fourth season.

Westworld is based on the movie originally released in 1973, written by the same man who created the classic Jurassic Park, Michael Crichton. The series tells the story of an amusement park filled with human-like androids instead of animals. In this park for the rich and famous, guests can pay to indulge in their deepest, darkest secrets without even thinking about the consequences. Now that the fourth season is almost back on the small screen, many fans are scrambling for more information, especially since producers have kept many things about the show under wraps.

Keep your soul intact, and there is no need to panic- here is everything we know about HBO's favorite sci-fi series, Westworld Season 4.

Ed Harris as The Man in Black

Most of the main cast from the first three seasons of Westworld will return for Westworld Season 4. But don't get your hopes up; any return character may only be a version of their previous selves, which could mean a different portrayal all together

Thandiwe Newton returnS as Maeve Millay. She will continue working with Jeffery Wright as Bernard Lowe/Arnold Weber and Aaron Paul as Caleb Nichols. Luke Hemsworth also returns as Ashley Stubbs, and Ed Harris will still play The Man in Black. We saw Tessa Thompson return as Charlotte Hale/Dolores Abernathy, while Evan Rachel Wood, who originally played Dolores, has a brand new character named Christina.

In one of her recent roundtable interviews, Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy shares some details about the character.

When we first meet Christina, we see that that she is a writer and that she is a storyteller. She works for a gaming company. But clearly, something is off and something is going on, because she’s getting these crazy phone calls from a stranger who is accusing her and her stories of being real and actually influencing real people. So I think, you know, that’s about as much as I can say. But I think it’s going to be one of the fun things, too, that will sort of unfold—that we get to learn about Christina this season—is what is actually happening. Who is Christina? Where are we? When are we? What is happening and what is her role?

Ariana DeBose will also join Westworld Season 4 in a recurring guest role, though her character is yet to be announced.

However, it is safe to expect other characters to show up in season 4, even those who died in earlier seasons because all they need to do is return to another 'host' body.

Nolan and Joy have kept their mouths shut about the possible plot of the series. However, in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Nolan talked about how he and Joy have always wanted each season to be different:

One of the fun things about me the show, when Lisa and I were talking about it way back, was the ability of this show to shift genres every season and the invitation to do it. This season, we had an episode called 'Genre.' We had a movie in [the original Westworld film] in which Crichton was very deliberately playing with the notion of genre. We felt we had an open invitation to play around, especially in this moment where TV is reinventing itself constantly, to have a show that reinvents itself season after season. It essentially takes advantage of the established parameters of a genre. You have a western, you have a samurai movie, you have war movies, you have science-fiction. There are all different versions of the future you have seen over the years in film. We get to play around with all of that and make the text of all of that. So the idea that next season will feel different and distinct in genre from the previous seasons? Yes, that's absolutely part of the structure of the show.

We have so much to look forward to in Westworld Season 4. Here is a quick look into everything happening in the next coming weeks.

Westworld is a mind-boggling sci-fi series that has established itself in the industry. So much so that in a sea of shows, it has been able to stand out and make a mark to be renewed three times. We are excited to see which direction the production team will take for season 4.
