It's a shame that a lot of Watchmen fans seemingly aren't giving the upcoming animated DC flick a chance, especially considering how underrated the voice cast of Watchmen: Chapter 1 is.
Without further ado, check out the stellar cast and meet the voices behind the animated outlaw vigilantes that brought them to life!
Rorschach aka Walter Kovacs
Set in 1985, outlaw superhero Rorschach was the first of the bunch to discover the death of one of their former members and began his investigation as to who could be conspiring behind their deaths.
Rorschach aka Walter Kovacs is voiced by Titus Welliver, who previously lent his voice to both Marvel and DC: Agent Felix Blake in Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Carmine Falcone in Batman: The Long Halloween Parts One and Two.
Laurie Juspeczyk aka Silk Spectre II
Rising Sci-Fi star Katee Sackhoff is behind the voice of Laurie Juspeczyk aka Silk Spectre II, who took the mantled hero title from her mother, Sally Jupiter.
The actress may be best known for her live-action reprisal of Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian, but she had also previously voiced a couple in Marvel and the DC franchises, too.
Sackhoff has been the voice of Black Cat in Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Detective Essen in Batman: Year One, Poison Ivy in Batman: The Long Halloween Part Two, and reprised the role in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three in 2024.
Adrian Veidt aka Ozymandias
Troy Baker is a prominent figure in the voice acting industry with most of his most popularly known for being Joel Miller in The Last of Us video game, Timmy Timtim in Rick and Morty, and even in major franchises such as Marvel, DC, LEGO, and more.
In Watchmen: Chapter 1, he voices CEO Adrian Veidt aka Ozymandias, the gold and purple-wearing super whose identity and image were inspired by his hero Alexander the Great and the Egyptian pharaoh Ramesses II, to whom he got his hero name.
Sally Jupiter aka Silk Spectre
Adrienne Barbeau brings Sally Jupiter aka the original Silk Spectre to life in the animated Watchmen flick. Similar to the previous voice cast members on this list, she has had former experiences voicing in superhero franchises, including DC.
In this case, Barbeau was Ultrawomen Beth in Ultraman: The Adventure Begins, Queen Serenity and Queen Beryl in the English-dubbed Sailor Moon, Catwoman aka Selina Kyle, and Martha Wayne in Batman: The Animated Series, reprising her Selina role in The New Batman Adventures.
Lastly, she was Gretchen Whistler and the voice of Arkham in Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009.
Nelson Gardner aka Captain Metropolis
The multi-talented veteran voice actor Corey Burton has been in the most prominent Hollywood franchises: Marvel, Disney, Star Wars, DC, you name it! This time, he gets to be Captain Metropolis in Watchmen: Chapter 1, aka the organizer, founder, and leader of the Minutemen.
Burton has initially worked on other animated DC animations such as Superman: The Last Son of Krypton as Brainiac, Councilman, and Cop, The Batman Superman Movie: World's Finest, The New Batman Adventures, Superman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond: The Movie, and Batman: The Brave and The Bold.
Edward Blake aka The Comedian
Rick D. Wasserman plays the murdered Edward Blake aka The Comedian in Watchmen: Chapter 1. According to what the trailer teased, a mysterious figure had thrown Blake over his balcony, leaving the Watchman to investigate without any leads behind the culprit.
Wasserman is also widely known for his animated Marvel and DC features such as Batman: The Long Halloween, Marvel Future Revolution, Green Lantern: Beware My Power, and Justice League: Cosmic Chaos.
