Though the box office has been canceled for the next few months, TV continues to trudge along as scheduled. Westworld III had just premiered last Sunday, and the show actually comes with an all-new intro.
Check it out:
Though I'm pretty sure there's a deeper meaning when it comes to these show openings, I'm just going to roughly analyze it and say that there's a lot more imagery comparing the hosts to actual humans. I don't know why the animal has been changed from a horse to an eagle, but maybe it has something to do with the hosts now being free to roam the human world.
What's more, we get some new imagery of a ball with moving lights around it. It's said that this season will feature a new villain in the form of data company Incite, and I'm sure this ball thing is supposed to be a physical manifestation of the villain, something for the viewers to associate with.
So far, reviews have been great for the first episode of Season 3, and fans are happy to be back in this eerie, sci-fi world. Though the humans have been subject to the park in the past two seasons, this time, it's the hosts who will be guests in the human world, and it will be interesting to see where things get taken from there.
Catch Westworld III Sunday nights on HBO.
